Re: Celestine Prophecy (The Movie)
Thu, December 1, 2005 - 9:05 PMdid you all see the trailer? i know it looks good!
Mozilla Fox users might have to use *Explorer
here's what James had to say.
Setting the Stage
We couldn’t be more excited here about the reaction everywhere to the upcoming Celestine Prophecy Movie. Our intention is that the movie become a community experience, and that everyone view it with friends, family, the group they discussed the book with, and especially, the group that represents the majority, I’m told, of new readers: teens and twenty-somethings. We trust you will catch the vision of thousands of people coming together, first to discuss the importance of a deeper spirituality and then to experience and describe the film.
Not that “describing the film,” will be easy. Our test audiences among readers give it rave reviews, but when pressed to describe the exact impact the movie has, they use a wide range of metaphors — inspiring, awakening, opening — that sort of thing — which is not unlike what happened with the book. But as we see and hear all this, the first thing any of us who worked on the project think is, “We can’t take credit for that.”
We sought to make every decision intuitively, to be true to the book. We even made some scenes smaller, more contemplative and less “movie magic”-oriented, to accomplish that. But like the book, the movie grew to have its own energy, and power, far beyond what we can claim we intended. A large part of this impact is the music, of course, written by Nuno Maylo, but the overall outcome, we had to just let happen.
What I’m saying to audiences about the film is that it can’t be viewed as an ordinary movie. Its signposts and plot points aren’t the emotional, titillating ride we’re used to. Those who won’t like it, will probably complain about that point. But at least for readers who understood the book, the journey will feel familiar. It takes a certain “letting go” to what’s happening to our main character, not to his emotions, but to his soul as it awakens. We have to become aware of a reality the cynic dismisses out of hand in order to take it seriously enough to see all the connections that manifest as the plot unfolds.
As of right now, we’re set for a late March release, and Salle and I are traveling around showing clips of the movie and from the “behind the scenes” DVD where the actors and crew talk about the synchronicity that happened as we shot the film. You can see a trailers at the movie site: www.thecelestineprophecymovie.com
We’re hitting churches and conferences in order to start the discussion now about the awareness shown in the movie. Again, we are trusting that a full discussion of the importance of a deeper spiritual awareness will begin to take place now, before the movie, and then in a large way after the movie, to help meet the challenges we face in the world. The time is ripe.
Stay tuned for a full announcement of our distribution and roll out plans...

Me either. And the film trailer didn't really add much to my enthusiasm... or lack thereof, I should say. It seems like a story with such promise that never really delivers.
On the other hand, Alan Eirera's (sp?) book "From the Heart of the World - The Elder Brother's Warning", and the quasi-documentary of the same name was unforgettable, and while not as inward a journey, it's implications are similar in nature, far-reaching and in some ways much more immediate.

Something i noticed about this entire series of books, is that you can only read them when it is appropriatly timed for your life.
i sucked down CP more than 10 years ago, when i went to read the tenth insight, which i had checked out from the library i sulgged through maybe two pages before i disapointedly decided that this was some piece of crap produced by the writer to make more money off of the impact of the first book and i was greatly disapointed in him.
Then several months later i was in a bookstore and saw the tenth insight there. Now after my previous encounter i had no reason at all to want too buy that book. But i physically couldn't really control my actions well as i bought the book.
Cover to cover this time i read this previously boring book in a matter of hours and got tons out of it!
It is very much a timing thing.
Do not read one of these celestine books or the search for shambala if someone tells you you should. Read it the week four people reccommend it, you see the movie prieview and you find the book sitting alone on a table somewhere.
Then you will find it mezmerizing.
Some blocks of info you have too be ready for and sometiumes we are just not yet ready.

Re: Celestine Prophecy (The Movie)
Sun, April 16, 2006 - 10:36 AMHi All!
I just wanted to add to this thread since I saw a prescreening of the movie last week in NC.
Wow. It is a very powerful movie.
I left so inspired and in awe. I was a little worried whether they would do the book – which changed my whole world view about nine years ago – justice…
You know, some films, especially independent, have bad acting, drag on and really slaughter terrific stories. And when I saw the trailer I was even more worried, because the acting looked kind of cheesy and I just didn’t want to be disappointed with something so dear to me…BUT…all I can say is WOW. I truly am beyond words. It was excellent.
The acting was great, the story zipped right along, introducing each insight in a rather quick manner, whereas in the book it went over and over each insight several times to burn it into your brain. The movie was EXTREMELY true to the book. The beauty in nature, how they showed energy being exchanged and passed, the whole thing was so true to form and I could literally follow the book in my head along with the movie. I laughed, I cried, a lot of things in my life right now are making so much sense...
What has me so amazed is that THIS STORY is being shown on the big screen and this information is being passed to the masses. The way they depicted the government and religion wanting to keep the insights under wraps…the whole thing…I can hardly believe the media has progressed enough to show something of this caliber…
Landmark Theaters has picked it up and the first showing is in San Francisco on April 19th. James and Salle Redfield will be there…and then they move across the country…Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, Sedona, etc….it will take them a while to move east…but by the end of May, it should be almost completely across the country.
I am making it my mission to get the word out. :) I've been posting around, because I don't think it's getting the exposure it deserves.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE ON EARTH. I think this is a big part of a massive world shift that is to take place over time. Please go see this movie.

Re: Celestine Prophecy (The Movie)
Sun, April 23, 2006 - 12:00 PMto give a little more...
I was deeply affected by the issue of "control dramas" when I read the book. I delved into uncovering my own. this was integral in my experiencing of the book. the movie only slightly brushed over the idea without any explaination or deeper look. Maybe this is a message to move beyond my dramas!? hmm
there were a few too many glossy moments/hollywood cinematography for my taste. And maybe it was the threatre I saw it at, but the resolution was poor. The dense lush landscape of the amazon didn't draw me in as I would have wanted.
BBUUTT, as pesimism aside, I did leave the film feeling quite inspired to relook at some of what I consider basic. Such simple truth offers profound insite. 4 Agreements can astest to that as well. We are all deeply affected.
So go see it!
Love

Thu, April 27, 2006 - 10:45 AMdaiva nati, g'day goddess,
I caught a pre screening a few weeks ago in San Diego. I read your words, and realized I can't say it any better. Thank you, sister. I ditto your thoughts.
I have to go back for another look see. I was so taken by the beautiful visual of the words I had read so many years ago I had a hard time sitting in my seat. I was bursting to joyously dance around the room and hug all the folks who were participating in the screening.
I am off to see Indigo Evolution tomorrow night.
Thank you again, goddess. Namaste

Re: Celestine Prophecy (The Movie)
Sun, April 23, 2006 - 7:03 PMI saw the movie today. Overall, I thought it was great. Though it did not get into the depper concepts described in the book, it does a good job describing the core. It seems the directors were making it simple enough to reach a new audience, not the same developing audience that bought the book ten years ago.
Considering the general population doesn't even think energy exists in terms of auras or personal energy, then expanding on the notion that you can see it, exchange it, use it, and evolve ... that's a lot for a novice to take in. -

Re: Celestine Prophecy (The Movie)
Sun, April 23, 2006 - 10:49 PMI am sorry to say that i couldn't never finish the book and the movie had nothing new...i am surprised that people are amazed about the concept of Exchanged of energy...isn't what life is all about in Everything???like friendship, relationships, love etc...exchange???so why would it be different in energy????
everything is energy./.
the movie was light and not well played...i was glad i went to see it at an early hour not to pay the full price...
What the bleep was way better...CP is just a story...
Just my thoughts!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Celestine Prophecy (The Movie)
Thu, April 27, 2006 - 8:00 AMyes the movie keeps it's self to the basic parts that may help those still lost in the mainstream brain wash see a way home...
this is a cut and paste of john's insights from the 100th tribe...
100th.tribe.net
1 –We are discovering again that we live in a deeply mysterious world, full of sudden coincidences and synchronistic encounters that seem destined.
2 -As more of us awaken to this mystery, we will create a completely new worldview - redefining the universe as energetic and sacred.
3 -We will discover that everything around us, all matter, consists of and stems from a divine energy that we are beginning to see and understand.
4 -From this perspective, we can see that humans have always felt insecure and disconnected from this sacred source, and have tried to take energy by dominating each other. This struggle is responsible for all human conflict.
5 -The only solution is to cultivate a personal reconnection with the divine, a mystical transformation that fills us with unlimited energy and love, extends our perception of beauty, and lifts us into a Higher-Self Awareness.
6 -In this awareness, we can release our own pattern of controlling, and discover a specific truth, a mission, we are here to share that helps evolve humanity toward this new level of reality.
7 -In pursuit of this mission, we can discover an inner intuition that shows us where to go and what to do, and if we make only positive interpretations, brings a flow of coincidences that opens the doors for our mission to unfold.
8 -When enough of us enter this evolutionary flow, always giving energy to the higher-self of everyone we meet, we will build a new culture where our bodies evolve to ever higher levels of energy and perception.
9 -In this way, we participate in the long journey of evolution from the Big Bang to life's ultimate goal: to energize our bodies, generation by generation, until we walk into a heaven we can finally see

11-the author keeps the plot focused on the basic's of energy exchange to help those still lost in the mainstream brain wash see a way home...
12-visualizing the energy in the movie will also help all feel or at least image oneness... still remember my first awaking visions like those back in OMG 1974... we all learn in different ways and seeing has become more important as we sit and watch... IMO watching sometimes instead of participating has become an unnatural amount of life... this may lead to brain washing by media or posting freaks like me lol... wowewo who do voo doo? wedo...

10) Holding the Vision
The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer everyday.
11) Extending Prayer Fields
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.

The 12th Insight is yet to be released . . .
